The woman wear brightly colored and patterned dresses and blouses with puffy sleeves. Carrie Chapman Catt's travels involved speaking to women about issues such as voting rights and wages. Her aim was to help establish political organizations for suffrage. In her journals she often describes the conditions of women in the area, including their literacy, social status, working conditions, and ownership rights. |
