Boy with Spear and Pole
Portrait of a boy standing barefoot outdoors in the grass holding a spear in his right hand and what may be a shield in his left hand. He also has an implement of some type hitched into the belt around his waist. He is wearing red and gold clothing, and his spear is also colored in red and gold. Carrie, in her journal from her trip to Java, describes his belt as "disk-like beads which are strung to form a long, single strand." |
