The map was created for the Madison Park & Pleasure Drive Association and additional text reads: "Organized as a voluntary association in 1892 Incorporated in 1894 Reincorporated in 1899 Annual contributors of $5.00 or more are members Object:-To build Parks and Drive Ways in and about Madison," "Work Accomplished Owen Park and Dive 1892-96 Lake Mendota Drive 1892-1900 Farwell Drive and Governors Island Park 1897-1902 Tenney Park 1899-1904 Yahara Parkway and Locks 1903-1905 Henry Vilas Park and Lake Wingra Waterway 1904-1905 Brittingham Park 1905 Miles of road constructed 16, of which 8 1/2 are Macadam Trees and shrubs planted in last four years 38, 375 Area of lands owned or controlled by the Association for Park and Driveway purpose situated outside the City Limits, 125 acres Park areas owned by City prior to 1899 3.6 acres Park area now owned or secured by the City, or by the Association in truck for the City, within the City Limits;— 150 acres." Additional text lists "Subscriptions by years."
