Industrial Design Department Photographs, ca. 1957-1992 From Jim Allen: "Scout 85 prototype, rear view, ca. 1971 The Scout 85 was an attempt to develop a light, compact and inexpensive Scout. A Scout II chassis was shortened to a 85 inch wheelbase (from 100 inches) and Uniroyal Plastics built a Royalite body (five bodies were actually built). The project started in March of 1970 and exactly one year later, it was cancelled after only one complete prototype was built." |
