The SSII Scout debuted for 1977 as International's off-roading oriented Jeep-beater. Its introduction coincided with International's sponsorship of four desert racing teams. The SSII was introduced at a dealer meeting at Parker, Arizona, in January of 1977 and this image was taken at that meeting where dealer personnel were allowed to drive the new SSII over a closed course."
