International Harvester Scout Quickie Chickie truck. Original caption reads: "Photograph MX-10045--Delivery of 196 rear-wheel drive Scouts by International is being made to Central Equipment Sales, Inc. The radio-equipped units will mount propane-fueled ovens in their cargo areas and be assigned to Quickie Chickie of America, Inc., restaurants throughout the United States and in Canada. The Scouts will be used to vend and deliver chicken, pizza and other hot food items. Quickie Chickie is a franchised operation of Central Equipment. The Scouts are equipped with 93-hp. 4-cyl. Comanche engines and all-steel cab tops. They are rated at 3,200 lb. GVW. Their ovens have a capacity of 72 chicken dinners or 56 12-in. pizzas. MT-2827. CR-1146-D." |
