Quarter plate daguerreotype of Col. William Martin of Tennessee. Williams was an early Tennessee settler who fought in the Indian Wars and the War of 1812. He died near Dixon's Spring Tennessee, November 4, 1846. The portrait is waist-up, with the subject facing front and turned slightly to the left. Hand-coloring on the cheeks. |
