Sixth plate daguerreotype of Col. Jeremiah Austill of Alabama as an older man. Austill fought in the Creek War in Alabama and Georgia, from 1813-14. After the war Austill lived in Alabama as a merchant, planter, county court clerk, and state legislator. The portrait is a front facing bust figure. Hand-coloring on cheeks. |
