Sixth plate ferrotype/tintype of Burnett Demarest, a First Lieutenant in the Wisconsin 8th infantry, Co. C. Demarest mustered into service in 1861 at Eau Claire and served with the 8th regiment until the end of the war in 1865. The portrait is three-quarter length standing. Demarest is holding his rifle in his right hand and his other hand on his hip. |
