Charles Lindbergh began his association with commercial aviation in 1928 when Transcontinental Air Transport (TAT) hired him as a technical adviser. Tapping into his public image, the airline named their new transcontinental route in his honor. The Lindbergh association continued after TAT merged with Western Air Express to form Transcontinental and Western Airline (TWA) in 1930. This particular baggage sticker was presented to TWA publicist Gordon Gilmore by colleague J.I. Greenwald in celebration of Greenwald's 40th anniversary with TWA. |
