Madison Royal Airport Repair Shop

The repair shop of the Morey Airplane Company at Royal Airport in Madison. Only months after this picture was taken, Howard Morey lost both his hangar and his airplane in a fire. Morey had established this airport, originally known as Pennco Field, in 1926. After the fire Morey returned to barnstorming and charter work, and in 1938 he became the manager of the new Madison Municipal Airport. |
