New University of Wisconsin YMCA Building Cornerstone Laid
| The cornerstone for the new University of Wisconsin YMCA building at the corner of W. Johnson and N. Brooks Streets is laid. Copies of the bible, a Wisconsin State Journal, a Capital Times, the program from the U.W. commencement, and university and YMCA documents are placed in a box sealed in the cornerstone. Shown (L-R) are Governor Walter Kohler; U.W. President E.B. Fred; A. Matt Werner, President of the U.W. Board of Regents; Robert Schumpert, general secretary of the YMCA; and Roy Yamahiro, President of the YMCA. |
