Gridiron Club Sixty-Fifth Birthday Menu

Gridiron Club Sixty-Fifth Birthday Menu | Print | Wisconsin Historical Society
Menu, mounted on board, for the sixty-fifth birthday dinner of the Gridiron Club, with a cartoon by Jim (James Thomas) Berryman of Father Time carrying a scythe and an hourglass and saying, "You're 65 now ... isn't it time to retire?" A man in monk's robes replies, "Retire! Why I've just begun to write!" as he writes in a book marked "1950." Volumes from past years surround him. Inscribed, "Ray - For our long friendship and for all you contributed to make this the grandest evening of my life. My hand and my thanks - Tom Stokes". Another part of the menu has two monks tending a steaming kettle with gridirons.
