Kickapoo Oil Offices
| Exterior view of the Kickapoo Oil Company's corporate offices. A carved wood totem pole stands in front of the building. Headquartered in Hillsboro, the company was started in 1958 by Raymond Knower. Kickapoo is credited with having the first self-service stations as Knower had to convince the Wisconsin State Legislature to change the law to allow people to pump their own gasoline. Kickapoo Oil owned over 60 stations before it was sold to Kwik Trip in 1988. |
