Lindbergh Returns
Charles Lindbergh on board ship in New York Harbor. After flying to France in the "Spirit of St. Louis," Lindbergh returned to the United States by ship. He was greeted by what was then the greatest reception accorded a single individual in the city's history. Publicist Harry Bruno, who represented Lindbergh on behalf of the Wright Aeronautics Company, the manufacturer of Lindbergh's engine, stands with his back to the camera. Bruno later recalled that Lindbergh "was still amenable to advice. [The] photo shows me with my arm raised, giving the returning hero advice on what he should and should not do." |
