The original caption states: "a happy 'Young Columbus IV' took off from Madison's Truax Field bound for the Old World. George Byrne, 15, Brooklyn (Wisconsin), won the eight day flying trip to Paris and London for selling 201 newspaper subscriptions in his home town. George is a newspaper carrier for The Wisconsin State Journal.
