Menu Cover for Dinner for Delegations to the 5th Session of the Assembly General of the United Nations
| Front cover of the menu for a dinner given by Nazrollah Entezam, President of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly during its fifth session and leader of the delegation from Iran, for the delegations to the General Assembly, with Nazrollah Entezam holding a gavel and Secretary-General Trygve Lie pointing to a document as they sit beneath a canopy flying the flag of the UN. Other delegates (many also identified by name and country) surround a chess game, the two players of which are Warren Austin (U.S.) and (Yakov) Malik (USSR), with others on horseback or conferring amongst themselves. A dove holding an olive branch perches on a harp and faces Entezam and Lie. Two teams on horseback (Yugoslavia and New Zealand vs. Poland and Czechoslovakia) shoot arrows at one another at the top of the image. An inscription in Farsi runs along the bottom of the image. |

| The dinner was held at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel; the main course was Supreme de Volaille Astoria. The back cover of the menu has a verse from the Persian poet Saadi (1184-1291), translated by East Wick: "All Adam's race are members of one frame, Since all, at first, from the same essence came. When by hard fortune one limb is oppressed, The other members loose their wanted rest; If thou feelest not for others misery A son of Adam is no name for thee." |
