Text on the reverse reads "Under the Personal Direction of Ervin J. Clumb. Interior view of the Al Ringling Theatre. Designed from the Great Opera Hall, built 1753-70 by Louis XV, as a unit of the famous Palace of Versailles, near Paris. In the lobby, is a replica of the noted Choir Boys Frieze, by Della Robbia, original appears in the Cathedral of Florence, 1671. Auditorium paintings are of early French origin. Many Great Names of the American Stage have played this theater. A few are listed here - John Barrymore, Maud Adams, Warner Baxter, Walker Whiteside, Olga Petrova, Fiske O'Hara, Chauncey Olcott, May Robson, Jack Norworth - and a host of other stars of our theatrical heritage. This Red Plush Gold Lined Jewel Box is the Greatest Masterpiece of European Architecture ever used in the American Theatre. |
