U.W. Hoofers Sail on Lake Monona

U.W. sailors jump gun. These members of the University of Wisconsin Hoofers Club got tired of looking at ice-locked Lake Mendota and hauled their boats to a patch of open water on Lake Monona to become the first sailors of spring. Putting their sheets to the wind are Bill Hanson, Bob Tuttle, and John Lindner. The Madison isthmus city skyline is in the background with the Capitol dome in the center. The view is looking north. |
