Ensemble of the Diggings at Ali Bacha
Ensemble of diggings at Ali Bacha. View looking downhill towards three men working on an archaeological excavation in Algeria, Africa. On the left an indigenous man is leaning back against the side of the trench with his wrists crossed. The indigenous man in the center is digging with a pick. Both men are wearing work clothes and head wraps. A third man down in the trench is bending over. The man standing on the right may be M. Debruge, who is wearing European clothing. Two wheelbarrows and other equipment are on the site, and a tent is partially visible on the right. Rock formations, trees and shrubs surround the site and rocky hills are in the background. |
