Farmers' Petitions
Jerry Zarecki (in the hat), president of the Portage County Farmers Union, presents Wisconsin Congressman David R. Obey with one folder of petitions collected by the Wisconsin farmers protesting the discriminatory dairy pricing provisions of the 1985 Farm Bill. The folder was part of over 10,000 mid-western names that Obey was to take back to Washington. The petitions were presented as part of that county's June Dairy Day. |
