Meeting the Pope
Wisconsin Congressman David R. Obey (in profile) meeting with Pope John Paul II. Obey was heading a congressional delegation that had visited Poland. Obey reported to the Pope on the conversation they had had with various Communist members of the Polish parliament. The news about his country, Obey said later, made the Pope very angry. |
