Robert Doyle Honored by Red Arrow Club
For contributing to the morale of state troops in the South Pacific by his work as a war correspondent, Robert Doyle (right), a Milwaukee Journal reporter, was given a life membership card in the 32nd Division Veteran association at a meeting Tuesday at the Red Arrow Club. The presentation was made by Joseph Hrdlick (left), national secretary, and Eugene Stephan, president of the Milwaukee Red Arrow club. The above information was taken from the caption that ran with the image in the Milwaukee Journal. All three men are wearing suits, and the presenters are wearing their Red Arrow side caps (garrison caps). |

This image was published in the Milwaukee Journal on December 8th, 1948. Robert Doyle was a civilian war correspondent for the Milwaukee Journal during World War II, covering the experiences of Wisconsin troops in the 32nd "Red Arrow" Division, an infantry division of the United States Army National Guard. The "Red Arrow" Division consisted mainly of soldiers from Wisconsin and Michigan. |
