| Three war correspondents at Saidor, New Guinea (present day Papua New Guinea). Names (left to right) are, unknown man with camera, John Scarlett of Australia, Ralph Teatsorth of United Press and Arthur Vesey of the Chicago Tribune. Three of the men are wearing combat gear with helmets. Two men have their typewriters perched on their knees. The jungle is all around them. Doyle's caption that ran with the photo: "Not much like the news room at the Journal, is it? Newsmen are pounding out stories two hours after the Red Arrow landing at Saidor." |

| This image was published in the Milwaukee Journal on March 23rd, 1944. The image and article appear on page 138 of the clipping book, Anybody Here From Wisconsin?, a reprint of the scrapbook kept by Robert Doyle's mother. Robert Doyle was a civilian war correspondent for the Milwaukee Journal during World War II, covering the experiences of Wisconsin troops in the 32nd "Red Arrow" Division, an infantry division of the United States Army National Guard. The "Red Arrow" Division consisted mainly of soldiers from Wisconsin and Michigan. |
