About the Event
Want to learn more about the history of Madeline Island? Take part in this free summer series event to hear engaging discussions on cultural topics from a host of distinguished Madeline Island speakers. Talks will cover everything from Apostle Islands storytelling to discussions on Indigenous history and culture—whether it’s tales of the past or research from experienced historians, there’s something for everyone to enjoy during this free, public series.
This event is part of the Madeline Island Speaker Series, presented in partnership with the Madeline Island Wilderness Preserve and with generous support from Madeline Island Museum Friends donations.

Free and open to the public.

Know Before You Go & Accessibility
Please arrive early to ensure you have a seat for the lecture. The lectures typically last 40 minutes with time for questions and answers after the presentation. In some instances, authors are available to sign their books. There are no food or beverage opportunities at the museum. The gift store is open before and after the lecture. Bathrooms and drinking fountains are always available.
- The museum store is open during operating hours.
- Guests may exit and return throughout the day.
- No food/beverage allowed.
- Restrooms and water fountains are available on site.
- The site will remain open rain or shine, except on a gale day.
- Unredeemed tickets can be used on another date in the case of a gale day.
- No pets are allowed. Service animals are permitted.
- Because of the historic nature of the buildings, not all areas are ADA accessible.
