About the Event
Experience the mysterious magic of a Scandinavian “Midsomer,” or Midsummer, celebration at Old World Wisconsin. An ancient seasonal tradition in Norway, Sweden, Finland, Iceland and Denmark, Midsummer celebrations have been held since the Iron Age as a means of shaking off winter and ushering in a bright, cheerful summer of bounty, fertility and prosperity. Usually held in pastoral areas around a , Midsummer is a time to connect with family and community while also enjoying the fruits of a fertile spring.

Advanced registration is required. Guests must be 21+ (ID Required).

Know Before You Go & Accessibility
Big things are coming—and history is being made—in 2024! Construction will take place at the main entrance throughout the season to create an even better, more comprehensive Old World Wisconsin guest experience. This will not impact visitor hours or detract from current events, locations and activities.
Event takes place in the Norwegian homesteads at Old World Wisconsin. Access to the full site is not included.
Guests must present a valid ID to redeem drink coupons.
Food and additional beer tastings are available for purchase.
Restrooms and water fountains are available on site.
The event will take place rain or shine.
Guests are encouraged to wear comfortable walking shoes and to dress for the weather.
No pets are allowed. Service animals are permitted.
Because of the historic nature of the buildings, not all areas are ADA accessible. Old World Wisconsin is committed to reviewing accessibility needs and improving access for all. Guests arriving in wheelchairs and electric scooters are offered complimentary admission.
