About the Event
Starting at the iconic Lake Geneva Public Library at 918 W Main Street, the 2024 Maple Park Walking Tour showcases the Veteran’s Memorial and Poppy Sculpture in Elm Park, and highlights the history of the Ice House Pier. Architectural gems along Maxwell Street, the western boundary of the Historic Maple Park District, represent bungalow, arts & crafts, Queen Anne, and Italianate styles of the late 19th and early 20th century. A World War II Lustron and an architecturally significant Second Empire dwelling are included. As the tour winds through the park and four blocks of the neighborhood, costumed interpreters bring the stories of early residents to life.
