About the Event

The whole family can get in on the fun in this exploration of the games played by students during outdoor recess more than a century ago. Learn what recess was like when antsy children burst from their one-room schoolhouses to burn off some energy. Some of the activities you might find yourself enjoying are marbles, hoop and stick, hopscotch and archery, among others. While many of those games helped develop physical fitness, they also played an important role in teaching skills the children would use in adult life. This ticketed event will be held outside on the school’s playground. Please note that ticket sales at the site are cash only.
