Jump River
Origin of Jump River, Wisconsin
Formerly named Broederville. After a while the people decide to call it Jump River because it is located at the river rapids. Broederville got its name from Barney Broeder, the first settler on the Jump River. Latton's Reminiscences and Anecdotes of Early Taylor County, p. 213
