farmer, manufacturer of pork products, b. Fort Atkinson. He grew up on his father's farm, attended Beloit Academy, and spent one year at the Univ. of Michigan. In the winter of 1889, while still ailing from an illness that had kept him bedridden for seven years, Jones began to make pork sausages for a local market. A mail-order business, which eventually became nation-wide, gradually developed, and in 1907 the business was incorporated as the Jones Dairy Farm, producing butter and cheese as well as sausage. E.
