(Rep.), born Mayville Jan. 3, 1903. Attended Milwaukee State College (now U.W.-Milw.) ; Marquette Univ. Law School 1923-24. President of local metal workers union since 1957; formerly school teacher. Mayville justice of peace 1930-42, mayor 1942-56. First elected to Assembly in 1934; now serving 14th consecutive term. Acclaimed in newspapers as the "Mayville Crusader" (Racine Jour.-Times) who makes "frequent efforts to inject reason into Assembly business" (Milw. Sentinel). Chairman of Assembly Labor Committee 1961 and 4 prior sessions; chairman of Excise and Fees Com. 1955, member 1961. Served on Legis. Council Public Health Coln. Home address: 435 N.
