Fish, Irving Andrews 1881 - 1948 | Wisconsin Historical Society
lawyer, army officer, b. Racine. He graduated from the Univ. of Wisconsin (LL.B., 1903), and practiced law in Racine (1903-1907) and Milwaukee (1907-1948). He was chiefly noted for his long and distinguished military career. He served in the Wisconsin National Guard (1903-1916), rising to the rank of major, and from 1916 to 1919 was major and later lieutenant colonel in the U.S. army. He was a colonel in the Officers' Reserve Corps (1919-1927), brigadier general and major general in the Wisconsin National Guard (1927-1940), and major general in the U.S. army (1940-1948).
