Davidson, John Nelson 1848 - 1945
Congregational clergyman, author, b. near Galena, Ill. He graduated from Doane College, Crete, Neb. and was instructor at that school (1878-1886). He received his master's degree from Beloit College (1888), and was ordained in the Congregational ministry the same year. He held pastorates in Stoughton, Milwaukee, Two Rivers, Dousman, Green Lake, and BIack Earth, and was the author of a history of early missionary activity, In Unnamed Wisconsin (1895). After retiring from the ministry, he lived in Madison until 1942, when he moved to Crete, Neb. Two Rivers Reporter, fan. 24, 1946; J. N. Davidson Papers.
