(Rep.), born Benton, Dec. 23, 1904. Educated Benton public schools. Attended Univ. of Wisconsin; B.S. Whitewater State College 1932. Engaged in farming since 1937; was commercial teacher 1926- 37, high school principal 1944-45. Member Lions Club over 30 years; past president Sturgeon Bay and Benton Lions Clubs. Served as town chairman, county supervisor, county board chairman 1951-57. Elected to Assembly 1954; re-elected 1956, '58, '60, '62. In 1961 chosen chairman of Republican Assembly Caucus. Chairman of Assembly Education Committee 1957, 1961 and 1963; Legis. Council Education Com. 1963. Member Assembly Transportation Com. ; Interstate Cooperation Comn. Served as chairman of Biennial Aids Adjustm. Com., member on Civil Defense Council, Assembly Printing Com., Public Welfare Com.
