Episcopal clergyman, b. Sandy Hill, N.Y. He graduated from Trinity College, Hartford, Conn. (1834), General Theological Seminary, New York City (1838), and was ordained a priest, July, 1839. After holding rectorships in Connecticut and New York (1838--1860), he became rector of St. Paul's Church, Milwaukee (1860-1876). He was curate, London, England (1876-1877), then returned to Milwaukee, where he was made canon of All Saints' Cathedral in 1877. He served as chaplain of Kemper Hall, Kenosha; nonresident professor, Nashotah House; president of the standing committee, Diocese of Milwaukee; and as deputy to the General Convention six times.
