FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Wade House to Host Screening Of "Around the Corner with John Mcgivern | Wisconsin Historical Society

Join Wade House Historic Site and MPTV on Monday, April 20th from 6 to 8 p.m. for a special preview party featuring a 30 minute screening of the 60 minute special "The John Gurda Hour."

March 31, 2015

GREENBUSH, WIS. In each episode of "Around the Corner with John McGivern," historian John Gurda shares the history of each featured community. Some stories take longer to tell than the few minutes he has in each episode, so the final episode of the 2015 season is devoted to John Gurda and his local history stories!

He will highlight seven topics from this season's travels that he wanted to explore more fully. The topics include: The Wade House, Greenbush; lannon stone from Lannon and brownstone from Bayfield; Grant Park in South Milwaukee; the North Point Lighthouse in Milwaukee's Lake Park; Great Lakes ship building in Sturgeon Bay; and the East Troy

After the screening, John Gurda, who regularly provides a three-minute version of a community's history in "Around the Corner with John McGivern," will add to the fun with interesting historical facts during a question and answer session.

The preview party is free and open to the public and will begin with a social hour from 6 to 7 p.m. at the new Wade House Visitor Center on Highway 23 in Greenbush. The social will be followed by the preview of "The John Gurda Hour" at 7 p.m., and the event will conclude with a question and answer period. Since there is limited seating, reservations are suggested and will be taken on first-come, first-served basis. Please call 920-526-3271 to reserve your spot.
