"Wisconsin: Our State, Our Story" is written to help students focus on the big ideas of history — a narrative in time and place. Along with acquiring the essential vocabulary to understand and describe our history, students also master literacy skills through the textbook's unique interdisciplinary approach.

Using maps, objects, drawings, paintings, photographs, letters and journal pages, students are immersed in historical evidence strategically placed on each page.  This visual and textual context is designed to deepen students' understanding of Wisconsin history, visual literacy, and introduce them to a framework to help them think like historians.
