Local Transportation Enhancements Program
Wisconsin Department of Transportation
The Local Transportation Enhancements (TE) program funds projects that increase transportation alternatives and enhance communities. Successful projects have created bicycle or pedestrian facilities, provided landscaping or streetscaping, and preserved historic transportation structures.
The TE program is intended to promote the development of a range of activities that complement or enhance a project or an area served by a transportation project. Federal funds administered through this program provide up to 80 percent of project costs. The project cannot be staged and must be usable when it is completed. A project sponsor must pay for a project, and then seek reimbursement for the project from the state.
