Croatians in Wisconsin

Although Croatians were the largest group of Slavs to immigrate to the U.S., few settled in Wisconsin. Most entered the country between 1890 and 1914 but a substantial number did immigrate earlier in the 19th century. The largest urban Croation community in Wisconsin is in Milwaukee while the largest rural population is in Sawyer County and Bayfield County.
