Luxembourgers in Wisconsin

Luxembourgers joined with the Germans, Dutch, Belgians, Bohemians, and Poles along Wisconsin's lakeshore from Milwaukee to Sturgeon Bay. From a core group of six families that arrived in 1848, they created the largest and most permanently rooted community of Luxembourgers in the U.S., framing the city of Port Washington in Ozaukee county.
