Stonefield Field Trips
Relive Wisconsin’s Rise to “America’s Dairyland”
At Stonefield you’ll explore history by the acre, including a 1900s Farming Village and Farmstead and the State Agricultural Museum. On your adventure through the site, you will learn the amazing story of the Badger State’s agricultural advance from a struggling group of wheat farmers to a worldwide agricultural powerhouse.
Programs are designed for students in grades K-12. All programs must include a 1:20 adult to student ratio.

- 200 people max for each program.
Know before you go!
Stonefield field trips can take place in indoor and outdoor locations. Please dress for the weather and bring a reusable water bottle. This tour involves hills, stairs, and uneven ground at times. Please let Stonefield staff know at least one week before your visit of any requested accommodations. Contact [email protected] with any questions.

Stonefield Field Trip
Explore the ABC’s (the agriculture, butter, and chores, that is!) of history in the beautiful setting of Stonefield, where hands-on learning is as easy as it is fun. Students will try a Babcock tester in the State Agricultural Museum, make butter in The Creamery, learn daily farm chores in the 1901 Farm House, have a lesson in the one-room School House, and explore the 1901 Village.
Each field trip lasts 3 hours. Stonefield staff are also available to visit your class to help you and your students prepare for your field trip.
