Reed School Field Trips
Explore the Era of the One-Room Schoolhouse
You don’t have to walk uphill, both ways, to discover the history of Wisconsin schoolhouses. At Reed School, class is back in session, and this time fun and games are encouraged! Explore this 1915 school and see how students learned and thrived in a classroom environment without the internet, computers, electricity, or even running water. Don’t forget to erase the chalkboard!
Programs are designed for students in grades K-12. All programs must include a 1:10 adult to student ratio.
- Field trips available in May, June, September and October by reservation only
- Field trips last for 2 to 3 hours
- 40 people max per program
Know before you go!
Reed School field trips can take place in indoor and outdoor locations. Please dress for the weather and bring a reusable water bottle and lunches/snacks. One Room Schoolhouse Field Trip
Journey through the era of the one-room schoolhouse, where generations of rural Wisconsin children came of age in the 6,000 one-room schools that once dotted the landscape of the state. This immersive experience brings students into the past and creates connections to their lives today.
Registration fees: free for all visitors!
