A visit to the Madeline Island Museum is an adventure through time, exploring the stories of the diverse peoples who have called the island home. Your immersive journey traverses four historic structures that combine to form the heart of this modern museum featuring fascinating artifacts and engaging exhibits telling Ojibwe, French, British, and American stories.

Know before you go!
Madeline Island field trips can take place in indoor and outdoor locations. Please dress for the weather and bring a reusable water bottle. Special in-school program!

Passages: Ojibwe Migration to The Place Where Food Grows on the Water

Program in your Classroom!  Based off the museum’s 2024 Passages Exhibit this PK12 Classroom Presentation includes a 30 minute talk and presentation that summarizes and introduces the 6 storylines about Ojibwe migration to the place where food grows on water. Program is available March – June, 9am to 4pm.

Registration fees:

  • $75 per class
  • $50 per class for economically disadvantaged schools.
  • Mileage costs may apply.
