For Immediate Release
Dec. 16, 2019
Madison, Wisconsin – As the temperatures drop during the frigid Wisconsin winter, it’s easy for cabin fever to set in, especially for children. The Wisconsin Historical Museum has just what you’re looking for to get the kids out of the house and active with free activities during the new year.
The Museum will host a series of “Cure Cabin Fever” events every Saturday in January. These events run from 2 p.m. – 3 p.m. and feature engaging and interactive programming for children.
On Saturday, Jan. 4 local storytellers Paul and Dale Rogovich will engage kids in the stories of the fur trade era in Wisconsin and the Great Lakes through imaginative storytelling and hands-on interaction. Discover how the exchange of furs, fabrics, technologies, and traditions changed the lives of Europeans and American Indians forever.
On Saturday, Jan. 25 guests can enjoy a traditional Taiwanese puppet show performed by the Taiwan Puppet Troupe of the University of Wisconsin-Madison. They will learn about the country of Taiwan and its culture through this wonderful performance.
More “Cure Cabin Fever” themes will be announced shortly. For a complete list of dates, visit wisconsinhistory.org/calendar.
