Black Point Estate and Gardens Offering a Variety of Events this June
Lake Geneva, Wis. - Black Point Estate and Gardens will be offering a wide variety of exciting activities and events at the Estate and in Lake Geneva this June.
“June is a great month to visit the estate and guests will enjoy one of the many events we are offering this year including two ones,” said David Desimone, site director of Black Point Estate and Gardens for the Wisconsin Historical Society.
New this June! Ring in the summer solstice sunset with yoga and light dinner on Friday, June 21 from 6:00-9:00 pm. Guests will have the opportunity to watch the sunset on the longest day of the year while building strength and increasing flexibility. Following the yoga class, guests will be served a light boxed dinner. This is a private event and fundraiser with a limited capacity of 40 people. Tickets are $40 person and a portion of all tickets sold will be donated to Black Point Estate. On June 22 from 4:00-7:00 pm, Yoga Hohm in Delevan will hold another private yoga event which will include an easy all levels asana class, followed by a light meal and a 45-60 minute discussion on yoga philosophy. Capacity for this event is 30 people and the cost is $40 for yoga without a meal or $50 with meal included.
On June 29, enjoy an intimate evening with Agatha Christie brought to life by local historian and actress Chris Brookes. Guests will enjoy a tour of the first floor of the estate followed by a conversation with Christie on the veranda. Christie will discuss her literary career, including Murder on the Orient Express and her successful play, Mousetrap. A complimentary glass of wine is included with the ticket price. The capacity for this event is 16 people and the cost to attend is $20.00.
The Legends and Landmark: Walking Tour of Lake Geneva is back on June 8 and 22. During this tour, guests learn about Lake Geneva’s famously designed buildings by architects including Daniel Burnham, Frank Lloyd Wright and William Le Baron Jenny, as well as the colorful past of the downtown historic Maple Park neighborhood. Registered guests will meet the tour guide in front of the Riviera Building, 812 Wrigley Drive, Lake Geneva.
Enjoy an afternoon cruising Geneva Lake during Beer Barons of Lake Geneva on Saturday, June 15 from 12:30-4:00 pm. Guests will learn the history of the beer barons that vacationed and lived along the shores of Geneva Lake. Once at Black Point, guests will be treated to a program and beer tasting of beers unique to the region. Beer tasting, snacks and souvenir beer mug are included in the ticket price of $68.00. The cruise departs from the Riviera Dock.
Take a peek behind closed doors at the estate on the Nooks and Crannies Tour on Friday, June 14. This experience gives guests a more complete glimpse into the lifestyle of Chicago’s successful beer baron Conrad Siepp, viewing areas of the estate which are normally off limits including the basement, third floor and root cellar. Guests will also get a view of the beautiful spiral tower staircase but due to safety reasons, guests are not permitted to climb the tower stairs. Guests arrive by trolley from the Grand Geneva.
