Make this Summer go Down in History! Registration now open for the Wade House Summer Camps

Greenbush, Wis.
 – Let your child experience the Greenbush countryside at Wade House Historic Site by participating in an adventure-filled summer camp that will teach campers the wonders of their town and state.

“Kids will have a chance to experience history and the wonder of the outdoors by attending one of our summer camps,” said Mary Whitehurst Burkey, lead interpreter and education specialist at Wade House Historic Site.

There will be two camps offered this year and they include:

Civil War Day Camps

July 8-12 (9:00 am – 4:00 pm)
August 5-9 (9:00 am – 4:00 pm)

Campers explore the worlds of both Civil War soldiers and their families back on the home front. Camp activities may include marching, setting up camp, cooking over an open fire, taking care of the homestead and writing letters home.

Pioneer Day Camps

June 24-28 (9:00 am – 4:00 pm)
July 22-26 (9:00 am – 4:00 pm)

The Pioneer Day Camp introduces children, firsthand, to daily life in Wisconsin over 150 years ago. Kids learn the arts of blacksmithing, woodworking, candle making, sewing, hearth cooking and much more as they spend each day exploring the daily activities of Wisconsin’s early settlers.

Each camp costs $175 and is targeted for ages 8-13. Late pick up can be added on for $10/day.

Advanced registration is required. To register your child and for more information visit,wadehouse.wisconsinhistory.org/summer-camps.
