Wisconsin Spooky Tales Come to Life At Old World Wisconsin

Eagle, Wis. – For two weekends in October, “Legends and Lore” at Old World Wisconsin will bring supernatural tales to life, brought to Wisconsin by early immigrants. The events will take place October 19 & 20, 26 & 27 from 5:30-9:30 pm.

“There are many activities that guests of all ages can enjoy this year including a house of spirits, two mazes, new spooky tales and a night parade that guests can participate in,” said Dan Freas, director of Old World Wisconsin. “The whole family will enjoy this fun, interactive evening.”

At Halloween Legends and Lore, the veil is thin between this world and the next. Troves of supernatural tales brought to Wisconsin over the generations come to life as guests venture into the dark of the woods, encounter traveling performers around a fire, hear eerie tales performed by lantern light, and attempt a haunted maze under the light of the moon. Guests can also enjoy an early bonfire story at 7:30 pm or a late bonfire at 9:00 pm, which is followed by the night parade. A handout with the schedule of events will be available each night.

Guests won’t want to miss Mr. Smith’s Emporium of Oddities, The Traveling Fates, The Tale of St. Dunstan and the Devil, The Hodag Hay Maze for Little Goblins, or the Hern the Hunter Maze for those made of stronger stuff!

Legends and Lore will take place from 5:30 pm – 9:30 pm and will be held rain or shine.  Tasty treats will be available for purchase.  For more information, call 262-594-6301 or visit oldworldwisconsin.org. Admission for this event is: Adults $12; children (4-17) $9; children 3 and under are free. Old World Wisconsin is closed until the event begins.
