The place of brants. Pensaukee, in Chippewa, is Pinsagi, inside the mouth of a river, from "pindg" (inside) and "sagi" (mouth of a river). It may possibly be derived from "pindjaki," inland. From pind or pindj = inside and saging = the mouth of a river.Been-ji-zah-gee = from been-ji and zah-geen = inside and mouth of river.
