Miller, Frederick 1824 - 1888
brewer, b. Riedlingen, Wiirttemberg, Germany. He was educated in Germany and France, learned the brewing business in Germany, and operated the Royal Brewery at Sigmaringen, Hohenzollern, for several years. In 1854 he migrated to the U.S. and to Milwaukee, and in 1855 purchased the Plank Road Brewery. He operated this business until 1888 when it was incorporated as the Frederick Miller Brewing Co., with himself as president. A. J. Aikens and L. A. Proctor, eds., Men of Progress. Wis.
