brewer, b. Riedlingen, Wiirttemberg, Germany. He was educated in Germany and France, learned the brewing business in Germany, and operated the Royal Brewery at Sigmaringen, Hohenzollern, for several years. In 1854 he migrated to the U.S. and to Milwaukee, and in 1855 purchased the Plank Road Brewery.
