Additional Information: | The Old Farkvam Saloon is significant under Criterion C as a good example of commercial vernacular architecture in Merrill. This building is a contributing resource in the West Main Street Commercial Historic District. Constructed between 1902 and 1905, by 1905 this location was listed as the Ole Farkvam Saloon. By 1915 it was owned by H.J. Klug, and the tavern was knwn as The Pike. Henry Klug owned the business as late as 1936, despite Prohibition years. By 1942 it was known as Muller's Tavern. Re-surveyed in 2005. No significant change observed. |
